| Detailed Position Description: As part of the Coast Guard DEEPWATER recapitalization program, the National Security Cutter (NSC) was initially contracted to be logistically supported by the contractor, using a to-be-developed Logistics Information Management System (LIMS). Recognizing that the LIMS application would not be developed adequately to meet the initial CG support date for NSC1, in June 2007 the CG made the business decision to support the ship using the Vessel Logistics System (VLS) tool suite. An effort is underway to correct any data discrepancies and enter the data into the Coast Guard’s Naval Engineering Supply Support System (NESSS). This position will be working under the guidance of senior experienced Provisioners who can help train candidates on the IT systems involved. Initially this position will be data entry, but will grow to entail other aspects of provisioning. Candidates must be a forward looking, industrious, self-starting leader, committed to on-schedule product delivery to the client, and able to work in a fluid work environment on both individual and team assignments. Client interface will be required. Candidates are expected to conduct all internal and client related communications in a professional, customer-focused manner. |
